Amazon aims to make Kindle Fire even cheaper
$150, with a few annoying ads
Amazon is reportedly looking into a new ad scheme for the Kindle Fire. The company hopes to sell premium priced ad packages for the platform, with prices starting at $600,000.
The ads would probably annoy consumers, as they would end up on the Kindle’s home screen, but then again analysts believe the additional revenue would allow Amazon to price the Kindle Fire at just $150.
The Kindle Fire launched amidst a lot of hype late last year and sales were relatively strong. However, recent figures indicate that sales have slowed down dramatically, so the move would make a lot of sense.
In related news, Amazon is also said to be working on a 10-inch tablet, scheduled for late 2012.
