Sales up
While the industry worries about declining netbook and and desktop sales, Acer has been doing rather well flogging its gear to China.

According to DigiTimes, Acer's shipments of notebooks and desktops in the China market through channels has increased. The growth rate topping 40-50 percent as compared to the same period of 2009.

You would think that Acer would be pleased, but apparently it is refusing to comment on DigiTimes' report. However Acer, Asustek Computer and Lenovo also enjoyed brisk sales during the same period and it seems that any doom and gloom in the industry is coming from Europe and America.

Acer's ranking in China's notebook segment is likely to improve in the third quarter. Acer took the fifth ranking position with a 7 per cent share in the second quarter.
