Minor problem stops the manufacturing lines

A "minor" bug in AMD's CableCard has forced the production lines of Media Centre PCs to grind to a halt.
The ATI TV Wonder Digital Cable Tuner has a bug that occurs when the TV Wonder Digital Cable Tuner attempts to sync signal on an all-digital tuner. According to DailyTech the bug only affects those who have TV Wonder Digital Cable Tuners with specific all-digital providers.

One engineer said that firmware to fix the sync problem will be available in a week. Meanwhile ATI has stopped shipment on new batches of the tuners. It is not the first time ATI has run into bug problems at launch.

All TV Wonder 650 Tuners were taken off the shelves until proper firmware could fix QAM sync errors. AMD Multimedia product manager Shane Parfitt said that the digital cable signal is lost if the ATI TV Wonder Digital Cable Tuner switches to analogue reception and then turned back to digital again.

The ATI TV Wonder Digital Cable Tuner works OK with all the other such as those from Motorola and even others from Scientific Atlanta Networks.
