Worried fans can now relax

As is normal with every release of screen shots for the upcoming Halo: Reach title, devoted fans have poured over them, dissecting and reporting on their theories of where the development might be headed based on the screen shots.

The latest round of screenshots set off a lot of worry once again that Halo: Reach would incorporate the upcoming Natal motion controller technology, which would be used to control the game. It does seem that Bungie was keen to get the word out that Halo: Reach is not a Natal title and that it will instead use the traditional Xbox 360 controller.

The rumors that circulated about the possibility that Halo: Reach would be a Natal only title caused a lot of revolt within the Halo community, with many saying that if the title didn’t support the standard Microsoft Xbox 360 controller configuration they would not buy it. It is good that Bungie has shot this down and put an end to the gossip, but without Halo: Reach as an anchor for the adoption of Natal support, one has to wonder what titles Microsoft has in mind that will at least offer Natal support. Our sources tell us to expect Microsoft to announce at least some of the Natal titles at CES in June.
