Nintendo puts its eggs in Wii basket

Rumors predicting
severe Wii console droughts this holiday season have motivated Nintendo to ramp up its supplier production of Wii parts well in advance.

Nintendo has reportedly been having discussions with Taiwanese suppliers Sunplus Technology and Wistron (manufacturers of controller chips for Wii and assemblers of the consoles) about their becoming new suppliers of outsourced Wii components.

Nintendo is also reportedly being heavily courted by Lite-On, a power supply provider, to be named as a preferred Wii supplier.
