Power to the people

Big Blue said it introduced its Power 10 microprocessor, which it claims, delivers up to three times greater energy efficiency and workload capacity.

The Power 10 is the first seven nanometre processor and has features over and above its previous iteration.

It supports a technology it calls Memory Inception. IBM claims this will improve cloud capacity and support memory intensive workloads, such as SAP and can be user for large model AI inference.

It also includes hardware security encryption, and core architecture that can, it's claimed, [rpvide 10x, 15x and 20x faster AI inference.

The chip is being built by Samsung.
