Europeans to pay twice as much, almost

MSI's revamped
Wind U120 is now available in the US, but being in Europe, sort of, we have to moan about its EU pricing a bit.

Newegg is offering it at a modest $379, just $30 more than the U100, but in Europe the only U120 listing we managed to find had a nasty €499 price tag on it. Here's the catch, the US Wind, SKU U120-024US, doesn't feature UMTS support, while its European cousin, the U120-1616UXP, does.

Still, the price difference is staggering, as the Americans will pay under €300 for it. UMTS or no UMTS, a €200 premium for a feature not all consumers will use to begin with, is a bit too steep.

It's possible MSI could change the European price before the U120 becomes available in our neck of the woods, but it seems it is reserving the cheaper SKU with no UMTS for the States, at least for now.

You can find the newegg listing here.
