Advanced Micro Devices has made the ex-CEO of Micron a director on its board.

He was 32 years at Micron so he certainly knows his semiconductor onions, serving in the company in a number of other senior roles including VP of R&D, chief technical officer, chief operating officer and president. He also holds around 100 international patents.

John Caldwell, the chairman of the board, said: “Mark led Micron through a period of significant growth. We look forward to gaining Mark’s deep industry insights, technical knowledge, and leadership experience as a member of AMD’s board of directors.”

AMD’s share price currently stands at $10.96 on NASDAQ.
