Midnight Eastern time or 6AM CET

Final version of Windows 10 launched a week ago for beta testers.

We got to know it as version 10240 and it looks and feels like the retail version. Others will start getting their upgrades starting with midnight eastern time on the 29th of July. European customers will start getting their Windows from the 29 July after 6AM due to the time difference.

It will be a 3GB download file depending on whether you have the 32bit or 64bit windows. Windows 7 and 8.1 users will get the free update.

The free update works on legal copies of windows and you will have until 29th July 2016 to upgrade. A year should be plenty of time.

The user interface is completely revamped. There is a new start menu that works even if you use the left click. It is a good fusion of Windows 7 start menu with the features from Windows 8.1 menu.

The notification centre is completely redesigned and a notebook/ PC users will have a chance to choose between tablet mode or PC mode. Tablet mode is much more touch friendly while PC mode is similar to Windows 7.

Cortana made debut its on Windows 10 and as long as you have a functional microphone you will can search internet (unfortunately via Bing) with the voice commands. You can also type in Cortana, which works too.

Another new thing is the Project Spartan, the new Edge browser that can do something's faster than the more popular chrome. Microsoft also introduced Windows Hello a new way to log in on your computer without password but you need a special hardware for that.

Windows explorer has questionable redesigned icons and lists some folders on the fast access bar even though we deleted them. This bug will probably get fixed at some point.

We have been using Windows 10 for almost nine months and it just got better. Overall it works just fine.

We will upgrade from Windows 8.1 PC instantly, there are no big disadvantages that comes to mind. I can see users with Windows 7 upgrading too, at least as it is free.
