Has Geforce 9800M GTX graphics

Toshiba might not be the first notebook brand you're thinking of when you're going to buy a gaming notebook, but the brand new Qosmio WXW might just change your mind. Not only does this notebook have a brand new shiny Geforce 9800M GTX graphics card with 1GB of GDDR3 memory, but it can also be equipped with a 64GB SSD and a 160GB hard drive.

Other features includes an unspecified choice of Core 2 Duo processors, 2GB of DDR3 1,066MHz memory as standard, upgradeable to 4GB, a 17in LCD with 1,680x1,050 resolution, Harman/Kardon speakers, 802.11b/g/n WiFi and the usual stuff like a DVD writer, webcam, memory card slot, HDMI, eSATA, USB 2.0 ports, an Express Card slot and so forth.

At 412x306x43.2~62.5mm (WxDxH) and 4.2kg, well, 4.3kg for the version with the SSD drive, this is one big and heavy machine. It's also quite expensive at about €2,080, but if you don't have that kind of cash, the SSD less model costs around €1,665 and a model with a Geforce 9700M GTS comes in even cheaper at around €1,185. The Qosmio WXW will be available in Japan from next month, but we have no word on if it'll make it to other parts of the world any time soon.
