Google has added a new weather layer to Google Maps with the assistance from Navy researchers in Monterey, CA. 

The latest layer will display current temperatures and conditions around the world. The partnership between Google and the U.S. Naval Research Lab in Monterey, and weather.com will provide users with the latest weather condtions.

The weather layer will make travel and activity planning easier and give instant weather information about places throughout the world, Google said.
