3DS video service launch in Japan

by on13 July 2011

Slated for U.S. release in late Summer
The new Nintendo Video service for the 3DS will be launching later today. The service will offer both 2D and 3D content Nintendo recommends to users. This offering should not be mixed up with Spot TV, which includes content from Fuji TV and Nippon TV. The service will apparently be offered in North America late this summer, and it is already being offered in Europe.

The 3DS video service comes as another source of video content for the 3DS. The 3DS will also be getting a boost from the 3DS version of the Netflix application; this will allow streaming right to the 3DS, which will enable streaming movies and TV shows direct to the 3DS for subscribers to the Netflix service.
