Launching the network today

EyeVio
, Sonys video exchange service has been launched today in Japan. As Sony representatives have stated, EyeVio will be much more restrictive than YouTube when it comes to copyrighted material.

For now, the EyeVio service will only be available for Japanese users, and when the network expands to a certain point, Sony will turn to the rest of the world. One of the strongest points (YouTube's weakest) is copyright protection.

Sony has declared that it will take care that piracy doesn't infect the network. This decision is logical as Sony wants to brand EyeVio as a place where users can view exclusive video content and film previews.

Of course, when the network goes global it will be completely open for anyone that wants to upload his/her clips.
