Western Digital has announced that it would start shipping its first 3TB hard drive by the end of the year.

The exact launch date has not been announced, but the new disk could even appear in late October. Details are sketchy and there is no word on price or any exact specs for that matter.

Availability is expected shortly after launch and we will keep our eyes open.
