Sony not making a big deal about the offering

Sony has launched a new sound bar system targeted at PlayStation 3 owners. The Surround Sound System for the PlayStation 3 will arrive this fall, and works by simply plugging it into the PS3.

The addition of a sound bar accessory for the PS3 is clearly better than the standard speakers that are found in the majority of televisions and monitors out there. Of course, the Surround Sound System for the PlayStation 3 will carry PS3 branding and is targeted to address one of the major issues that console makers continue to see:  the majority of people never connect their console up to get the proper kind of surround sound that is available from today’s games, which means that consumers are missing out on one of the best parts of the gaming experience.

When it arrives this fall it will go for $199, and with the simple hook up, we expect it to be popular even if the sound is only half way decent.
