Think product to transition under Lenovo brand

Lenovo
has announced that it will transition the remaining “Think” series products from the IBM brand over to the Lenovo brand ahead of schedule. According to Lenovo, the reason it is dropping the IBM brand is that customers seem to have a good recognition of the Lenovo brand.

The original purchase agreement allowed Lenovo to continue to use the IBM brand until 2010 to help customers understand that the “Think” products were transitioning over to being marketed and produced by Lenovo. Many modern “Think” series products, including many of the current Thinkpad products, do not even currently carry the IBM logo on them.

IBM is expected to continue to provide service and warranty service for Lenovo “Think” series customers.
