We have been receiving a number of reports from those who pre-ordered and purchased Red Dead Redemption and Split/Second that the included bonus codes that came as a reward for pre-ordering these titles do not seem to be working. We can confirm ourselves that neither the code that we received from our pre-order purchase of both titles at Game Stop works.

Those that pre-ordered Red Dead Redemption received a bonus code that was good for an extra outfit that included some upgraded abilities. For pre-ordering Split/Second you received a code for a special Game Stop themed car along with a die cast replica of the same care in the game. (We can only confirm the issues with the codes included in the Xbox 360 versions of the game, we don't know if the Playstation versions are seeing the same issue or not.)

It seems that both Take-Two/Rockstar is aware of the problems with the codes for Red Dead Redemption and Disney/Black Rock Studios is aware of the issues with the codes included with Split/Second. We have to assume that they are working on addressing the issue, but from first-hand experience the fact that the codes don't work is a little bit more than annoying. We assume that all involved will resolve the issue shortly.
