Braidwood memory tech is gone

So is P57

Intel obviously messed up big time with its promising Braidwood memory technology as it decided to completely abandon it and drop the P57 chipset from its roadmap. We've just confirmed this from multiple sources and the P57 has been removed by Intel from its internal roadmaps.

P55 is still on the schedule and we already have boards whereas Intel still plans to launch H57 and H55 chipsets in Q1 2010 . The H versions of the chipset should be the option of choice for Clarkdale dual core with IGP even though the P55 should get Clarkdale support in Q1 2010.

Both the H57 and H55 will be limited to 1x16 Gen 2 PCIe and we are not sure if 2x8 PCIe express is possible, as P55 is capable of support for such dual card design.

Braidwood is completely removed from roadmap and there are no indications that Intel will get this technology back on the track for an introduction. Braidwood was supposed to speed up the computer boot-ups  and overall operations, and looked like a better version of Intel’s turbo memory. Well it won't happen anytime soon.
