Android Wear 4.4W.2 update rolling out

Music playback and notification update

Users and journalists are reporting that Google has started rolling out an Android Wear update and that the LG G Watch is getting updated from 4.4.W.1 to 4.4.W.2.

As you can imagine this is a minor update that will let you remotely use Google Play music features simply by saying 'OK Google play music'. Notifications have changed, which is good since they were the thing that was really annoying me on Android Wear. With previous software releases you only had an option to leave the notification sitting on the watch or swipe it off. If you left it sitting there it would take a piece of your watch face and it would look ugly, never mind the fact that in extreme cases it would be hard to tell the time. Now you can swipe the card down, and swipe it up when necessary.

There is no news on real Google Maps functionality, but if you type in the address and close the GPS navigation mode in your phone, the watch will tell you when to make a turn and vibrate before the turn or exit. This is not a new feature but we thought it was worth mentioning especially for users who drive motorcycles or bicycles in the city, this is a very handy feature.

If you have an Android based watch the update should be available shortly for the LG G Watch, Moto 360 and probably other watches as well.
