iOS 5.0.1 fails to resolve battery issues

by on14 November 2011

Doesn’t work for all users apparently

Last week Apple rolled out iOS 5.0.1 and the minor update was supposed to address a serious battery bug experienced by some iPhone 4S early adopters.

While the update worked for some, other users are reporting that the issues still persist and their battery life is still pants. It’s not easy to say how many users remain affected, some say the update worked for them and report a significant battery life increase, while other maintain that nothing has changed at all.

It’s all turning into a rather embarrassing affair for Apple. One of its advantages over the Android crowd was always good resource management, resulting in superior battery life. The fact that the issue cannot be clearly identified or resolved is quite surprising given the fact that the 4S is essentially an updated iPhone 4, which has been around for quite a while.
