Pay 1.58 for per stream processor

We had a quick look at the price difference between two GTX 260 versions, the old one that comes with 192 stream processors and the new, squared one, that comes with 216 stream processors. According to the European reatailer/e-tailer Alternate.de, Zotac's new GTX 260 is 38 Euros more expensive than Zotac's old GTX 260.

The old Zotac GTX 260 sells for €237 at Alternate.de and the same retailer has the Zotac GTX260² listed, but not available for €275. Of course, we are talking about a single retailer and a single AIB partner, but we picked this one because it has both cards. There are other retailers/e-tailers, and other cards from various partners, but neither one of those retailers or cards are listed or available at a single retailer.

Basically, you end up paying 15+ percent more to get a performance boost of less than 10 percent. Not something we'd call a great deal.

The price stands there, so you have to pay about 40€ more. You can find them both listed at Alternate.de.
