EA boosts revenue projection for 2nd quarter

Electronic Arts has announced that Battlefield 3 has shipped 10 million units already; and the company is so pleased with the success of the title so far that they have adjusted their revenue projections for Q2 2012.

EA has had a very strong quarter and they still have two more titles to launch before the end of the year.  Need for Speed: The Run and Star Wars: The Old Republic will both be launched before the end of this year.

EA is planning a big advertising assault for the holiday season and they think that the best is yet to come. Battlefield could exceed the company’s estimates, but exact data is not yet compiled to assess this yet. One thing to note is EA says that by server traffic they can see that the PC version is selling very well, and maybe even much higher than expected.
