Konami will be releasing a Metal Gear Solid collection that will contain five Metal Gear classics that all have been re-mastered in HD. The collection is confirmed for both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3.

The five classic Metal Gear offerings in the package are Metal Gear 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, and Metal Gear. Many of these Metal Gears titles have never been available on any platform that was not from Sony, so this is expected to be a big deal for Xbox 360 owners who have wanted to experience the Metal Gear franchise.

From what we know so far, the remake of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 will feature a four player co-op over Xbox Live and the PlayStation Network. The original PSP version had required players to access online co-op only when connected to a PlayStation 3.

Konami is planning a November 8th release in North America and a European release on February 3rd according to the latest info we have. Sources still say, however, that the North America release could likely slip into next year to better align it with the European release.
