DICE has talked about the fact that Battlefield 3 will be getting multiple add-on DLC offerings once the game is released. The studio has been restructured to focus on getting the DLC content out for Battlefield in a steady stream to help maintain the sales momentum as well as to gain interest from the players.
 
Going in with a large DLC strategy for Battlefield 3 is a bit of a change from what we have seen in the past. This time DICE has an actual plan for how the DLC will be released and what DLC will be released. The studio has a separate team that is focused on nothing but the DLC content.

DICE will reveal their DLC strategy shortly after the release of the game. No word yet on how much DLC is planned, but we would not be surprised if the studio follows the lead of other titles with a Season Pass offering for the DLC content according to some of the whispers that we are hearing.
