Next chapter in Halo saga to arrive 9/14

Sources are now confirming that Microsoft and developer Bungie have selected September 14th as the launch for the next chapter in the Halo saga known as Halo: Reach. According to our sources, the September 14th release date will be for all regions with the exception of Japan, where the game will instead be released on September 15th.

Most recently, the multiplayer of Halo: Reach was tested as part of a beta offering for those who had purchased Halo: ODST or were invited. This beta was said to have attracted almost three million players who logged more than 1.1 billion kills during the eighteen-day period for which the beta ran. The majority of the feedback from the multiplayer beta has been very positive.

Microsoft is said to be getting ready to crank up the PR machine for the release of Halo: Reach as the company looks to challenge the sales numbers that were put up by Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. Sources tell us that Microsoft is expecting Reach to be the best selling Halo title ever for the Xbox 360 platform and hopefully, the best selling game in the console’s history.
