Pay is better there than anywhere else, they claim

With all of the recent departures from Infinity Ward, it is no wonder than Activision is attempting to repair the public misconception that their company is both greedy and does not treat its developers very well. Misconception or not, Activision is claiming that their developers are paid better than anywhere else and that they do treat their developers very well.

According to COO Thomas Tippl, developers are provided with creative freedom to focus on making games while Activision handles the back office stuff.  Still, with all of the recent events with the Infinity Ward situation, Activision does give the perception that it is a greedy overlord; but Activision contends that it is able to attract the top talent in the industry.

Sources tell us that Activision is in the process of a reconfiguration of the leadership at Infinity Ward, and in addition, retention bonuses are being offered for key team members to stay. Whispers we hear suggest that additional bonus monies are in the process of being allocated to those Infinity Ward employees that are still around in an effort to stop team members from heading for the exit. Activision is said to believe that it expects remaining Infinity Ward employees to step up and fill the void which will provide a changing of the guard that could be good for the series.
