Preemptive strike

Chinese magazine Caixin reports that a group of Chinese authors is suing Apple for allowing illegal downloads of copyrighted books via its store.

Apparently, the group has lobbied Apple to remove the books for a while now, but to no avail. It’s worth noting that the group had similar disputes with Google and its Chinese competitor Baidu.

Apple seems to have infringed on 37 works. Obviously books ain’t no patents and aren’t quite Apple’s idea of intellectual property.
