It's all
about thin and light notebooks these days, and as the economy contracts, so does the average notebook waistline. We had a go at MSI's X340 earlier this week, and now we're raising the bar with Dell's very thin and very expensive Adamo 13-incher.

We went for the silver and white colour option, mainly as it really sticks out of a crowd, and that's what most people ready to cough up this kind of money on a PC are looking for in the first place. The black one is just as beautiful, and obviously much less conspicuous, but we just found the white one a bit more interesting.

As you could expect from such a pricey piece of kit, build quality and design come first, and Dell has truly done a great job with the Adamo. The materials feel bulletproof, and a lot of attention has gone into using them cleverly and putting them together to form a very stylish package.

As for the hardware, well this is primarily a fashion item, and we'll treat it as such. Anyway, under the glass and brushed or dotted metal you'll find a Core 2 Duo at 1.2GHz, 2GB of memory, an SSD and Intel's X4500 IGP. So, nothing too impressive under the pricey facade, but we'll talk more about performance in our review, so stay tuned.
