AMD preparing more Ryzen 5000X3D series SKUs

Ryzen 7 5700X3D and Ryzen 5 5500X3D for socket AM4

AMD might be working on two more SKUs in the Ryzen 5000X3D series for AM4 socket, according to a rather credible leaker when it comes to AMD chips. Based on older Zen 3 architecture, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D and the Ryzen 5 5500X3D SKUs could end up being quite a popular upgrade for those stuck on the AM4 socket.

The leak comes from chi11eddog over on Twitter, and these Zen 3 SKUs with 3D V-cache could pack a decent punch and be priced to kill, especially since we are talking about an 8-core/16-thread and 6-core/12-thread SKUs that pack 100MB and 99MB of total cache.

In terms of numbers, the Ryzen 7 5700X3D is an 8-core/16-thread SKU with 100MB of total cache or 512KB of L2 per core and 96MB of shared L3 cache. The Ryzen 7 5700X3D ends up with a slightly lower clock compared to the Ryzen 7 5800X3D, ticking at a 3.0GHz base clock. The Ryzen 5 5500X3D is a 6-core/12-thread SKU with 99MB of total cache, as it has two fewer cores. It also works at a 3.0GHz base clock, which is lower than 3.3GHz for the Ryzen 5 5600X3D. The two new SKUs could also end up with a lower TDP as well.

Unfortunately, there is no word on when we can expect these chips or whether these will be available globally or regional and/or retailer exclusives.
