Computex 08: Ours is better

Well, Nvidia said it. They just said to the world that its Tegra is better than Atom, it can do better things at lower power and that it will last for tens of hours on video, emails and web browsing.

Nvidia just said that it will fight the rest of the X86 world, or should we call it Windows or Mac OS compatible with its Tegra platform.

Tegra has 700 to 800MHy Arm 11 CPU which is really power efficient, but it will never run stuff such as Photoshp, MSN messenger or any other Windows XP or Vista capable application.

It can run embedded Windows, but that is just about it, it is not X86 and it will never be X86. The platform kind of has a chance, as it claims 20 hours of emails or 24 hours of HD video, but powered with next generation OLED devices.

Atom is worse, but with OLED the battery life will look much better. Can a small green company called Nvidia change the face of the mobile computing?

For its sake, we hope that they do.
