Chipset + CPU

Upcoming mobile and desktop Core i3 and Core i5 processors feature support for some interesting and rather fancy audio standards.

The new CPUs will be coupled with x55 and x57 chipsets and will support Dolby True HD and DTS HD master audio. These standards fall under the high end features category. They will process Dolby True HD and DTS HD master audio content protection protocols.

The new chipset also supports dual stream HDMI & DP Audio, but somehow we believe that you might need an additional audio codec chip to enable true Dolby digital live 5.1 and other fancy audio technologies.
