2.7GHz and DDR3 for €34

AMD is poised to launch its first 45nm single-core CPU, the Sempron 140.

The new AM3 Sempron runs at 2.7GHz, has 1MB of L2 cache and its dual-channel memory controller supports DDR3 memory. With a TDP of just 45W, it shouldn't be much trouble to cool even in a tiny chassis, and at just over €30 it sounds like a fair deal.

In case you're after a 45nm dual AMD, your best bet is an Athlon X2 2xx, with prices starting at around €55 for the 2.8GHz Athlon X2 240.
