Intel advises OEMs, SIs to go Atom

Intel
is full of new / old ideas. Any given big company likes to dominate the world, and Intel is definitely not an exception. Therefore they are telling their customers that they should drop the system sales of single core Celeron.

System integrators and OEMs are selling micro-ATX based motherboards and a single-core Celeron processors and they usually sell them in rather unattractive micro ATX towers. Now Intel tells these vendors to sell Atom-based dual cores in smaller form factors (sub 8.5 l), and in smaller and more attractive cases.

Dual-core small nettop Atoms should create an entirely new market, as people still get surprised that a desktop can be so small and cheap.

Also, Intel promises to reduce BOM (Bill of Material) and increase OEM profitability during the economic crisis. (Yeah right  Sub. Ed.)
