And some quads and tri's

Kuma, the K10-based dual-core, and upcoming Regor dual-core, are going to continue using the Athlon X2 brand.

AMD will continue confusing the market as most of people believe that Athlon is K8 and we all know that K8 architecture is inferior to K10, and therefore some people might not realize that new Athlons that will launch in 65nm and 45nm later, will be K10-based.

Knowing AMD this can easily change, but this is at least the current plan. Dual-core 45nm K10.5 CPUs codenamed Regor are only expected in late Q2 / early Q3 and things can easily change in the coming months.

Athlon is still a strong brand, but it might bring some confusion, as Athlon with a higher number designation and lower clock might end up confused with Athlon K8-based parts, with higher clocks and a four digit number. At last we know that AMD is committed to bring some decent, K10.5-based dual-cores to the market.
