Samsung Galaxy Book4 launched in three versions and with AI

by on20 December 2023

Gets Intel Core Ultra processors

Following Intel's recent launch of Core Ultra Meteor Lake processors, Samsung has announced its new Galaxy Book4 notebook series, featuring three different versions, Galaxy Book4 Ultra, Galaxy Book4 Pro, and the Galaxy Book4 360.

Depending on the version, the entire Galaxy Book4 series will use Intel's Core Ultra 5, Core Ultra 7, and even Core Ultra 9 CPUs. As expected, the big part of the announcement is about AI and Intel's integrated NPU, promising a new level of productivity, mobility, and connectivity.

With the Galaxy Book4 Ultra, Samsung is pairing Intel's new Meteor Lake mobile CPU with Nvidia Geforce RTX 4050 Laptop and RTX 4070 Laptop GPUs. At the same time, the Galaxy Book4 Pro and Pro 360 versions will stick with Intel's integrated graphics.

The flagship Galaxy Book4 Ultra is built around a 16-inch, 16:10 Touch AMOLED screen with 2880x1800 resolution, 48-120Hz refresh rate, and 120% DCI-P3 Color volume. It weighs a mere 1.86kg. In addition to Core Ultra 9 or Core Ultra 7 CPUs and RTX 4070 Laptop or RTX 4050 Laptop GPUs, you can equip it with up to 64GB of LPDDR5X memory and up to 2TB of PCIe SSD storage. The rest of the specs include a 76Whr battery, studio-quality Dual Microphones, AKG quad-speakers, 2MP 1080p FHD front camera, Thunderbolt 4, USB Type-A, HDMI 2.1 and other inputs and outputs.

As for the Galaxy Book4 Pro versions, these will be available in 14-inch and 16-inch versions, with both screens sharing the same specifications as on the Galaxy Book4 Ultra. These two will be available only with Core Ultra 5 and Core Ultra 7 CPUs, and Intel integrated graphics. The rest of the specs include up to 32GB of LPDDR5X memory and up to 1TB of SSD storage. The 14-inch version gets a 63Whr battery while the 16-inch one gets a bigger 76Whr battery.

The Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 is a weird one as it is pretty much the same as the standard Galaxy Book4 Pro 16-inch but its screen can twist and fold into a tablet-like device.

Unfortunately, Samsung did not give out any details about the price but it did say these will start to sell in Korea in January 2024.
