Official score and screenshot revealed

Fudzilla has been given an official GeekBench score for a Helio X20 device. This is not the device that will ship to the customers, but a chip in the final stages of development.

The highest clocked Helio X20, also known as the MT6797 Super, scores 2019 in the single-core GeekBench test and 7006 in the multi-core test. A Snapdragon 820 phone scores 2300 in the single-core and 5591 in multi-core test. The Snapdragon 820 has four large cores and wins in the single-threaded loads, however the four big cores cannot keep up with ten cores of the Helio X20.

Huawei's Kirin 950, another SoC with Cortex-A72 cores inside, also loses to the Helio X20 in both tests. The Kirin 950 scores 1710 in single- and 6245 in multi-core tests.

Geekbench Single Thread 2109 2300 1710
Geekbench Multi Thread 7006 5591 6245

The Helio X20 chip is finished and customers are  getting chips. The company has finished the critical phase of silicon development and verification, and it should be happy with the end result.

This score is based on a near-production ready sample and might not represent real-life performance of the Helio X20. Based on our limited information, it could end up better or worse than the score we posted. In addition, the score will depend on how phonemarkers polish and optimise their products.
