New Snapdragon 410 64-bit chipset and 4.7-inch screen

HTC has now officially announced its newest mid-range Desire smartphone, the 4.7-inch Desire 510 based on the new 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 chipset.

The heart of the new HTC Desire 510 smartphone is Qualcomm's Snapdragon 410 64-bit chipset with 1.2GHz quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU and Adreno 306 GPU. HTC decided to pair the chipset with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage space expandable via a microSD card slot.

All of this hardware is placed behind a 4.7-inch 854x480 touchscreen and inside a 139.9x69.8x9.99mm heavy body, which tips the scales at 158g. Since this is a mid-range smartphone, HTC decided to throw in a rear 5-megapixel and VGA front cameras, 2100mAh battery, 802.11bgn WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0. It runs on Android 4.4 with HTC Sense on top of it and has LTE support.

While Qualcomm's Snapdragon 410 chipset is certainly 64-bit capable, HTC has not mention anything about it in its official press release. It also did not mention any details regarding the price but it did note that the HTC Desire 510 should appear in Europe as well as with some carriers in the United States.
