CES 2011: Really nice

Acer's Picaso tablet appears to be a decent on the surface resembling oversized iPad, however we were really impressed by Motorola's tablet offering.  The Motorola Xoom is seven inch tablet based on the Nvidia Tegra 2 processor and should ship with Android 3.0 (Honeycomb).  Motorola representatives stated that the device will ship in the US in Q1 2011, while shipping later in the year to other parts of the world.

The device has a 10 hour battery life, a seven inch screen capable of 1280x800, and 3G support. In the US, Verizon Wireless also plans to offer an upgrade to 4G. The device has two cameras, a  2 megapixel front facing, and 5 megapixel back facing camera.  Xoom also comes with 1GB DDR2 for system memory, and rocks 32GB of internal storage. Utilizing the SDHC slot, and a 32GB SDHC card, consumers can upgrade the storage to 64GB total.

The device supports playback of 1080P HD video, as well as any Adobe Flash.  Motorola was showing a pre-recorded video on the device of it running Android 3.0.  In the video it seemed to us that the user interface was much improved, and that Google Maps 5.0 maps also provides a great user experience.  You can check out the video below to see how this device is going to work and feel.
