TrueSmart+ and TrueSmart-i

Smartwatch maker Omate has announced two new Android 5.1 watches with quite impressive hardware and $169 price tag.

The new TrueSmart+ watch runs on Android 5.1 with an OUI 3.0 user interface and not the Android wear. Android wear doesn’t support network connectivity and TruSmart+ has a modem which  supports HSPA DPA 7.2Mbps/UPA 5.76Mbps, EDGE, GPRS as well as GSM Quad Band 2G: 900/850/1900/1800 or WCMDA 2100MHz.

The zinc casing measures 44x44x14.2 mm and has a 1.54 inch curved capacitive touch screen, TFT display with 320x320 resolution. The TrueSmart+ is powered by MediaTek MT6572M dual core processor at 1GHz. The watch has 1GB RAM and 8GB Rom. It has a media player too. Spotify, Facebook, Runtastic, phone, calendar, messaging will be among the apps supported.

The watch comes with 600 mAh battery and in stand by the watch needs 8mA. It comes with a microphone, quarty or azerty keyboard support, loud speaker, sim card slot, GPS antenna and a curved capacitive touch screen.  This is not bad for $169. It is expected that the pre-orders will ship in November.
