Affordable Vista Premium cards

HIS is showing that its not all about high-end graphic cards, there is a market for affordable cards too. The company launched two graphic cards that are capable of doing Vista Premium, the "weaker" one X1050 which we wrote about here, and more "powerful" one that is called X1550.

The X1550 is an interesting one as it comes in PCI-Express x16, AGP 8X, PCI-Express x1 and PCI version. The PCI-Express x1 and PCI versions are specially designed to provide Low Profile and Dual DVI-I cards allowing connection of multiple monitors, like we saw on Cebit and wrote about it here.

The PCI-Express x16 version is also Crossfire capable. It supports DirectX 9.0c, OpenGL 2.0 and Shader Model 3.0 and anti-aliasing with HDR. Avivo engine is also included for for encoding/decoding the latest video formats. As for the specifications it will run on 550MHz for the core and 800MHz for 256MB/128Bit GDDR2 memory.

I'm sure that HIS did a good job because there is a big market for these cards, especially if u want multiple displays and a Vista premium capable card. And all cheap.

You can find more information on HIS.
