AMD rolls out Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.4.2 hotfix drivers

Fixes plenty of Crossfire issues ahead of Radeon Pro Duo launch

AMD has released its newest Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.4.2 hotfix drivers, which brings new Crossfire profiles, fixes plenty of Crossfire issues and adds full support for AMD XConnect eGFX technology.

According to the release notes, the new Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.4.2 hotfix drivers are available for Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 OS and support all AMD graphics cards since Radeon HD 7700/HD 7900 series.

The biggest focus of the new Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.4.2 hotfix drivers are the Crossfire issues so it comes with both new and updated Crossfire profiles for Elite Dangerous and Need for Speed games and fixes several Crossfire issues in The Division, Hitman, Fallout 4, Steam VR Performance Test, some other DirectX 9 applications and other games. AMD's is about to launch its dual-GPU Radeon Pro Duo graphics card so fixing Crossfire issues must have been a priority. 

The new Radeon Software Crimson Edition 16.4.2 hotfix drivers also bring full support for AMD XConnect technology. It gives current and future Thunderbolt 3 eGFX enclosures an ability to be equipped with Radeon R9 Fury, Nano or Radeon 300 series graphics cards. It also adds plug-n-play support with integrated management interface for such devices.
