AMD Thief Mantle driver is out

by on19 March 2014

Catalyst 14.3 Beta V1.0

Yesterday we wrote that Thief is getting a patch to support Mantle and TrueAudio. AMD is following up with a new beta driver that will enable this support.

The new Catalyst 14.3 Beta V1.0 driver just became available for Windows operating systems supporting AMD Radeon R9 200 Series, AMD Radeon R7 200 Series, HD 8000 Series, HD 7000 Series, HD 6000 Series, HD 5000 Series as well as further 11 integrated products. It also supports a bushel of Mobility products.

The new driver enables Mantle and TrueAudio support for Thief and it fixes stuttering observed in Crossfire mode. Hopefully this means that AMD got a few things sorted out aside from Mantle and TrueAudio support. Call of Duty: Ghosts got a quad-Crossfire profile update that improves level load times and audio issues observed when using Crossfire configurations (and V-sync enabled) have been resolved.

Battlefield 4: V-sync issues observed on Crossfire configurations (with Mantle enabled) have been resolved which is again good news for AMD Mantle fans. It is a 292MB large download and in case you want to use Mantle in Battlefield 4 or Thief, we suggest you download it here.

You can find more about Thief Mantle support here.
