Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition gets full PC system requirements

by on05 March 2024

Coming on March 21st

Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition is set to launch on PC on the 21st of March, and now, Nixxes and Guerrilla Games have revealed a bit more information about the game, including full PC system requirements. The list includes everything from minimum requirements, recommended, high, and all the way to very high, which are meant to provide the best-looking visuals at 4K/UHD resolution and 60 FPS.

Guerrilla Games and Nixxes are promising that the game will be able to push the systems but also provide great experience on less powerful PCs. It also promises that there will be plenty of options in the launcher and in the game menus that will allow settings and visuals to be further tweaked to your liking, including quality settings for textures, level of details, shadows, water, terrain, a field of view, motion blur, film grain, and others.

The announced requirements are pretty high and start with an Intel Core i3-8100 or AMD Ryzen 3 1300X CPU, 16GB of memory, and either an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 4GB or AMD Radeon RX 5500XT 4GB graphics card. Of course, this will get you 720p resolution at 30 FPS, which is far from ideal. The medium preset, which is described as recommended for running the game at 1080p resolution at 60 FPS, includes an Intel Core i5-8600 or AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, 16GB of memory, and either an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or AMD Radeon RX 5700 graphics card.

In case you want to game at 1440p at 60 FPS or 4K/UHD at 30 FPS, which is the high preset, you'll need an Intel Core i7-9700 or AMD Ryzen 7 3700X CPU, 16GB of RAM, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 or AMD Radeon RX 6800 graphics card. The very high preset, which should run the game at 4K/UHD resolution and 60 FPS, requires an Intel Core i7-11700 or AMD Ryzen 7 5700X CPU, 16GB of RAM, and either an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 or AMD Radeon RX 7900XT graphics card.

The game will also need 150GB of SSD storage, and at least Windows 10 64-bit OS (version 1909 or higher). Unfortunately, the developers did not reveal any details about upscaling support. Still, we already know it will support NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution and Frame Generation, as well as NVIDIA Reflex and DLAA. NVIDIA was keen to note that the performance will be substantially faster on GeForce RTX graphics cards.
