No Porsche cars for Forza 4

Can’t come to an agreement with EA
For those Xbox 360 owners that are excited to get their hands on Forza 4, you might be surprised to learn that it does not look like there will be any Porsche models featured in the game this time around. Electronic Arts, who owns the exclusive rights to the Porsche models in video gaming, is apparently unwilling to sub-license the Porsche models to appear in Forza 4.

In the past, EA has reached sub-licensing agreements with Turn 10 so that the cars could be included in previous Forza releases. The impasse is similar to the exclusive deal that Microsoft/Turn 10 have with Ferrari, but the difference is that they have always been willing to sub-license Ferrari models to be included in other racing titles.

While Turn 10 is unhappy with the decision, they continue to reach out to their contacts at EA to try to reach a deal. We have to agree that EA’s refusal to sub-license at least some of the Porsche models to Turn 10 for Forza 4 seems almost illegal. While EA’s racing titles might have an exclusive on Porsche models in their titles, it just does not seem right. We expect Microsoft/Turn 10 to give EA the cold shoulder should they want to include Ferraris in their next racing title. The only real loser here is the video game racers; and we suspect that EA has lost sight of that.
