With the release of DRT 2, Codemasters never really got that much into the new trend of selling more downloadable content once a game has been released. This time around, with the release of DiRT 3 things are going to be a little different; there are at least 4 DLC packs in the pipeline for purchase.

The DLC packs that we know about for DiRT 3 are two car packs and two track packs. The car packs are called the “Mud and Guts car pack” and the “Power and Glory car pack.”  As for track packs, Codemasters is going to offer the “Monte Carlo track pack” and the “X Games Asia track pack.”

Of course, the new packs will offer a variety of new challenges to complete to unlock additional achievements and trophies, depending on which system you buy it for. We don’t yet know the price at which these packs will be offered, but we believe that it is a safe bet that it will likely be 400 Microsoft points or $5 per pack. We doubt that Codemasters would be as greedy to charge 800 Microsoft points or $10 per pack.

While the release date of the Downloadable Content isn’t confirmed, we believe that it will arrive on release day or shortly afterward, according to our sources.
