PC patch really delayed by transit strike

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 VIPs will get a third round of free downloadable content in the form of another map pack. The third map pack will be available for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 VIPs to download starting on June 9th.  Those users without the VIP code that was included with the purchase of new copies of BFBC2 can purchase one from the Xbox Live Marketplace or from the PlayStation Store.

The map pack itself basically makes use of the current maps by expanding the game play modes, so while it is being called a map pack that might be a bit of a stretch, since there are really no new maps. Instead, we will be Nelson Bay playable in Squad Deathmatch and Laguna Alta playable in the Squad-Rush mode.

Despite the fact that the PC patch for BCBF2 was held up by a transit strike in the country of Romania, where it so happens that EA’s QA team for European studios is located, the next PC update when it is released will contain the entire back catalog of maps within that update.  In addition to this sources are confirming that a glitch is causing a crash that needs addressed prior to release. No word yet on an actual release date, but the PC version of BFBC2 is a bit behind.
