We have received confirmation that Valve will make its projected release date and Steam will arrive for the Mac. While the Mac version of Steam has been targeted for an April release, many suspected that Valve would not make that release date. Valve has now confirmed that they will be pushing the release till May 12th.

When Steam arrives for the Mac on May 12th, a number of Valve titles for Mac will be available for purchase, including Left 4 Dead 2, Team Fortress 2, Counter-Strike, Portal and the entire Half-Life series. It is unknown what additional third-party titles will be available at launch, but we do suspect a few despite the fact that most Mac gaming publishers have been mum about potential support for Steam on Mac.
