Multiplayer only, will need ODST to get in

Microsoft also confirmed at the X10 event that the Halo Reach Beta will be getting on the way on May 3rd. In order to get access to the Halo Reach Beta you will need the Halo 3: ODST game disc; without the disc, you will NOT be able to gain access to the beta.

While additional details were sketchy, the beta will be multiplayer only, and it is believed that it will run for a couple of months prior to release of Halo Reach. Microsoft confirmed that the plan is still to release Halo Reach on September 1st, 2010. Currently, it seems that the title is expected to make that release date.

While currently retailers are accepting orders for Halo Reach in the standard edition, whispers we hear tell of a special edition version of the title that will also be offered, as well; no official announcement was made at X10, but it is believed that Microsoft will announce details of this offering at E3. Still, as suspected, a special edition for Halo Reach is coming.
