8/16 bit titles to arrive from Sunsoft USA

If you happen to have owned a Nintendo or Sega Genesis, you are likely to remember developer Sunsoft, who was once a well-respected developer during the 8 and 16 bit era, delivering a variety of very popular games. Sunsoft is coming back after teaming up with Gaijinworks in an effort to revive the brand in the U.S. that will be released by the new Sunsoft USA.

First up will be a re-launching of the sunsoftgames.com Web site, where users can find out the latest plans for classic Sunsoft titles to be re-released. The first title for release will be Blaster Master, which was known as Meta Fight in Japan. This NES title will be the first Sunsoft classic title released, and it will arrive for the Wii Virtual Console for 500 points during the month of December.

While Sunsoft isn’t yet saying what might be next or whether Blaster Master will be available as a re-release on any other platform, it does seem that the focus will start with the Wii platform and branch out from there, according to our sources. Sunsoft has a library of over 100 games that the company developed, so they have a large amount of titles from which to choose to bring to the modern consoles.
