Believes that consumer experience will improve

According to sources, it does not seem that Activision is too overly concerned about the complaints lobbed by PC gamers about the upcoming release of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for the PC platform. Despite the very vocal complaints from PC gamers, the company has supposedly admitted that they are paying carefully attention to these and they believe that long-term the consumer experience will outweigh the complaints.

While sources claim that developer Infinity Ward has said that nothing is off the table yet, the goal in providing the best player experience is paramount; and the changes will improve the experience over the previous version by a wide margin.

While it remains to be seen how PC players will react to the changes, the negative chatter has seemed to have divided the COD community on the PC platform. While the company can claim that the user experience will improve, it doesn’t matter if PC gamers don’t buy the title because of the perception. It seems that the old saying that perception is reality could affect sales in a negative way; but with all of the sales for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, the real question might be whether Activision and Infinity Ward really care if the title sells less than it has in the past on the PC platform. We should start seeing an answer to this question next week when the title is finally released and PC gamers judge the finished product.
